As Director of Photography for Bowel Cancer UK’s legacy campaign, I worked with a small but dedicated crew to bring delicate, deeply personal stories to life. The subject matter required a sensitive approach, and I used a high-quality lighting setup to create a respectful, intimate atmosphere that honoured each contributor’s journey. Using two Canon C70 cameras with prime lenses, along with a gimbal, I captured smooth, cinematic shots across two locations that we cleverly transformed to appear as three distinct settings. We conducted four interviews that blended candid, conversational moments with thoughtfully scripted pieces, capturing the essence of each individual’s experience. The b-roll was filmed in settings meaningful to the contributors, allowing their distinct stories to shine.

The result was a heartfelt campaign that connects emotionally with viewers, honouring those impacted by bowel cancer and their legacies for future generations.
