Bishop’s Stortford College needed a series of films that could communicate the breadth of life across the college, from academic study and art to sport, craft and the wider student experience.

My role
I joined the production as Director of Photography, working alongside the director and producer and leading the visual production across five filming days.

The production challenge
We were moving constantly between classrooms, sports facilities, workshops, interviews and scripted scenes involving students and staff. The challenge wasn’t simply capturing everything. It was making very different environments feel part of the same visual world.

The approach
We built a consistent camera and lighting language across the week while adapting quickly to each location. At times the crew split into separate units so we could cover more of the college without compromising the visual standard.

The result
Four visually consistent films showing very different aspects of the college while feeling like one campaign.
