24th International Exhibition Inequalities – Triennale Milano

As the Director of Photography on Dezeen’s coverage of the Inequalities exhibition at Triennale Milano, my goal was to visually capture the compelling narrative and urgency of this powerful exhibition curated by Stefano Boeri. Over a three-day shoot, we employed Canon C80 and C70 cameras paired with Cooke CP3 lenses for a rich, cinematic interview, and RF lenses for detailed macro shots and fluid gimbal movements.
For Stefano Boeri’s interview, we pursued a naturalistic lighting approach, mimicking the soft daylight streaming through the venue’s large windows by diffusing an Amaran 200x through a large diffusion sheet. This ensured a soft, authentic look consistent with the exhibition’s raw aesthetic. Day one was dedicated to immersive gimbal coverage of each exhibition area, day two featured the insightful interview with additional b-roll, and day three provided contingency filming to comprehensively capture the essence and detail of the exhibition.
